Fight 6
Aaron Romero vs Jorge Ortiz
Round 1-Fight starts off a little slow with both sizing each other up. About 30 seconds in, Romero explodes at Ortiz with a big kick. He follows up a few seconds later with some quick bunchers, and Ortiz backs up but then somehow gets Romeron on the ground and mounts him. Ortiz reigns downa few blows of his own as payback and the fighters jockey for positiion for a few moments. Back up on their feet and they are both looking for the right time to make their move. Romero gets a good right kick to the head, and Ortiz counters with a couple nice punches to the face. This is looking like it will be a good match up going into the end of the first round.
Round 2- Round starts off with both exchanging a few quick hits then sizing each other up again. Ortiz attacks a few moments later and backs Romero into the fence. Romero counters and does the same a few moments later. Ortiz seems to be getting a few more hits in and it sounds like he has quite a few fans in the crowd tonight. Both fighters exchange blows most of the round. Ortiz tries to tackle Romero near the end of the round, but Romero pushes him away with ease.
Round 3- Fighters exchange an extended glove tap at the beginning of the round and show good sportsmanship. Romero explodes and goes on the attack, but quickly kicks Ortiz where it counts. So much for the sportsmanship. Fight stops to let Ortiz recover for a minute. Lots of going back and forth for most of the round, but neither fighter is really making any progress. This will be a close decision. Romero goes on a big attack right at the end and lands a few good punches, but we will see if it was enough.
2 judges score it 30-27, and the other 29-28. Unanimous decision goes to Jorge Ortiz.
I agree. I think he landed more punches and controlled the fight well.
